Originally two farm cottages bought by Charlie bowyer, a family of builders, and converted into one in 1970. The family decided to run it as a pub and a while later the pub is extended by purchasing a barn from Fyfield, dismantled and rebuilt, following a fire in 2005. The building has undergone careful restoration.
