🧱18th Century: The building’s frontage is Grade II listed, dating back to the late 1700s.
🗺️ World War I: The pub was associated with the Morn 🪖Hill military camps. The war office contracted part of the building as an 🐄🐖abattoir to feed soldiers.
1974: The building officially received its Grade II listed heritage status from English Heritage. ®
🛌 🍳☕️2013: The pub’s bed and breakfast became notorious for its poor condition. It was featured on the TV show The Hotel Inspector but struggled to turn the business around.
🏚️ 2019: The pub closed its doors entirely, raising concerns among residents regarding its future.
Star Pubs
🧑🔧👩🔧2021: Urgent structural repairs were required when the building’s gable wall began separating.
🌟2026: A £450,000 investment by Star Pubs brought the building back to life. The pub reopened in early in June 2026.
